Two sponsored students pass national exams
Two of our sponsored students passed their final secondary school national examinations. We are glad CHACHU played a part in their lives, giving them the opportunity to finish secondary school.
The challenge
In Minembwe, many Banyamulenge families struggle to pay school fees. When tuition goes unpaid, children are sent home, sometimes for good. Education becomes a privilege instead of a right.
Who we serve
Banyamulenge youth and families in Minembwe. CHACHU itself is a diaspora community, with members in different countries coordinating support from abroad. 40+ students currently supported through school fee assistance.
What we do
When families cannot afford school fees, CHACHU steps in to cover tuition directly. There are no overhead costs for paid staff. Volunteers in the diaspora coordinate fundraising and disbursement with families and schools on the ground.
Tuition coverage
Direct payment of school fees so children are not turned away from class.
Year-round support
Assistance continues each school year as long as funding allows.
Diaspora-led
Led by volunteers across countries, with deep ties to Minembwe and Mulenge.
How it works
